About

The Paper Doula was born from lived experience.

During seasons of cancer, miscarriage, illness, and loss within her close family environment, our founder stepped into the role of personal carer. In the quiet spaces between hospital visits, uncertainty, and grief, she discovered something simple yet powerful: paper can hold what feels too heavy to carry alone.

Just as a birth doula offers grounded presence during life’s most vulnerable thresholds, The Paper Doula exists to offer calm, creative support through paper-based tools. Not only in moments of joy – but in fear, anticipatory grief, illness, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm.

Our printable coloring books and journals are therapy-inspired and intentionally designed to support:

  • Mindfulness and nervous system regulation
  • Stress and anxiety relief
  • Processing grief and loss
  • Exploring fears – including fears associated with specific animals
  • Holding space for deeper emotional needs

Some collections are nature-based. Others explore symbolic imagery, emotional themes, and shadowed spaces we are often afraid to name. Each page invites presence. Slow breathing. Honest reflection.

Creative expression has long been recognised as supportive to mental wellbeing. Organisations such as the British Association of Art Therapists and the Mental Health Foundation highlight the value of art and mindful practices in emotional processing and resilience.

The Paper Doula is not a replacement for therapy. It is a companion. A quiet support. A space where paper becomes witness.

We believe creativity can help regulate fear, soften grief, and gently reconnect you to yourself – one page at a time.

Pause. Breathe. Color. Write.
You do not have to move through hard seasons alone.

With Love,
Eve
